This site needed to be striking, organize a lot of information in an accessible manner, and stay consistent with an existing branding.  It is the addendum to a musical album, which presents several design needs.   Firstly, it needed to capture the album artwork and overall aesthetic.   This concept album is based on the music of medieval French troubadours; artistically it worked to be a dark color scheme and have an antique, mysterious tone overall.  Logistically, the site required streaming audio samples, links for sales, and a plethora of historical / bibliographical information.  WordPress was a perfect platform for all these needs.  As a content management system, it offered a great flexibility in how to present and group information; a few additional plugins gave it all the media functions it needed.
